According to local sources, Israeli Authorities have ordered the demolition of Palestinian property in the towns of Al Baq’a and Ithna outside of Hebron. The houses in danger of demolition are said to belong to residents of the Zalta, Islaima, Sawayfa and Jaber family. Some of these homes are under construction while others are complete.
The Israeli military also delivered demolition orders to al-Nour Co-operative Society and a number of clinics.
Israeli Officials explain that building permits were not obtained from the Israeli government and their demolition is warranted.
This Israeli decision contradicts earlier agreements, declaring areas under Palestinian civil jurisdiction only require building permits issued through local councils of the Palestinian Authority.
