A number of Palestinian civilians were wounded in clashes with Israeli settlers who invaded the olive orchards that belong to the Palestinian farmers in the village of Burin, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.Eyewitnesses reported that the clashes started when a group of settlers from the nearby Yitzahar settlement came to the fields and attempted to steal the olives.
The farmers are currently preparing for the olive harvest season which will start in early October. Ghassan Dughlus, in charge of the settlement issues in Nablus governor’s office said, he is expecting a very tough harvest season for the farmers of the of the ongoing settler attacks, especially that Israeli police or soldiers are not trying to stop the settlers.
Yesterday a group of settlers from the same settlement also raided the olive orchards and attempted to steal the olives.
