On Wednesday, Israeli forces carried out a large-scale incursion into the Qalandia refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem, demolishing a car wash, assaulting eight citizens, and abducting others.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that its ambulance crews transported eight Palestinians to the hospital after they were assaulted by occupation forces in the Qalandia refugee camp.
The PRCS added that its ambulance crews also evacuated five sick Palestinians from the camp, transporting them to the hospital for medical treatment.
Media sources reported that a large army force stormed the Qalandia refugee camp on Wednesday morning, with at least 30 military vehicles and 10 bulldozers.
Occupation forces stormed and searched citizens’ homes in the camp, amid a heavy deployment of military reinforcements.
While performing their journalistic duties, Israeli forces obstructing the work of Palestinian journalists, assaulting them and firing tear gas canisters and concussion grenades at them.
Occupation forces assaulted Palestinian journalist Mohammad Samrin while he was covering the events, and assaulted others, including a 53-year-old man, among others.
Soldiers abducted the young man Ghassan Al-Khatib, while another young man was run over by a military vehicle near the camp; his condition was not known at the time of this report.
During the massive incursion, Israeli troops knocked down the door to the Hamad family home, invaded the home, detained and assaulted residents and abducted the woman, Kifah Hamad, 43, despite a previous leg fracture.
Military bulldozers demolished a privately-owned car wash on Airport Street and evacuated the Mansour family from their home, converting it into a military barracks.
Sources reported that since dawn, the occupation army have detained and abducted dozens of citizens, without knowing their identities, and invaded many citizens’ homes in the camp.
The army closed the entrances to the camp with earth mounds, forcibly evacuated a number of citizens’ homes, and prevented residents from entering any of the camp’s mosques for the dawn prayer.
In related news, occupation forces shot a Palestinian young man while he was in the vicinity of the “Al-Dahia” gate, in the nearby town of Ar-Ram, north of occupied Jerusalem.
The PRCS reported that its ambulance crews transported a young man to the hospital after he sustained a live gunshot wound to the leg in Ar-Ram town.
Media sources reported that occupation forces distributed threatening leaflets to Palestinian residents, and broadcast orders over loudspeakers, for residents to evacuate homes.
The Israeli army has launched a large-scale raid on the Qalandiya refugee camp, located north of Jerusalem.
