An Israeli drone strike killed one Palestinian and injured others on Saturday, after targeting a citizen’s home in the central Gaza Strip city of Deir al-Balah, while a Palestinian child was shot with live ammunition in Beit Lahia, in the north.
Al-Jazeera reported that an Israeli drone strike killed the Palestinian citizen Sharif al-Hasanat, after targeting his home in Deir al-Balah.
According to the ARAB48 News website, the army announced that a company commander in the Deir al-Balah battalion was killed in a strike on Deir al-Balah Saturday.
In a statement, the Israeli army claimed that its forces killed a commander with the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement – Hamas.
The Times of Israel quoted the army who claimed that the strike on Deir al-Balah killed Sharif al-Hasanat, whom it called “a company commander in the terror group’s Deir al-Balah battalion”
It published a post by the army on the X platform claiming that al-Hasanat has been “eliminated” despite the strike being in violation of the so-called ceasefire agreement.
Meanwhile, occupation forces injured a Palestinian child after shooting him with live ammunition in Beit Lahia, in the northern Gaza Strip; the severity of his injury was not known at the time of this report.
On Friday, Israeli forces shot and killed the Palestinian citizen Ibrahim Muhammad Kawara, 29, south of Khan Younis in the southern part of the besieged and devastated Gaza Strip. Occupation soldiers also shot a woman with live rounds in the Al-Nuseirat refugee camp, in the central Gaza Strip.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, Israel has killed 1,285 Palestinians and injured 4,252 others since the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement on October 10, 2025.
Since the beginning of Israel’s latest military onslaught against the Gaza Strip, on October 7, 2023, at least 73,419 Palestinians have been killed and 174,364 others have been wounded.
