Updated: The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza reported Friday that Israeli forces killed seven Palestinians—including a medic, two children and a woman—and injured many others amid a serious escalation across the devastated Gaza Strip.
Medical sources said Civil Defense medic Yousef Salem died from serious wounds sustained earlier Friday when Israeli forces bombed the Abu Sharkh Junction, north of Gaza City.
In Jabalia, northern Gaza, an Israeli strike on a Civil Defense services center injured a firefighter.
A source at Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah also reported that Talal Yassin Ziyara, 73, died from serious wounds after an Israeli soldier shot him earlier Friday in the Al-Masha’la area, south of the city.
The ministry identified four additional Palestinians killed in separate Israeli attacks across Gaza, including a woman and two children. Medical sources said many others were injured.
The Israeli army carried out airstrikes and fired artillery shells at the Al-Katiba area of Gaza City.
Israeli forces killed two children and a woman in western Gaza City, one of them was identified as Israa al-Hissy east of Deir al-Balah. Israeli attacks across the Strip included airstrikes, artillery shelling, gunfire, drone operations, and naval fire.
The Al-Katiba and Ansar areas of western Gaza City came under intense Israeli bombardment and gunfire from drones and helicopters on Tuesday.
Israeli media reported that an undercover Israeli force was discovered near the American Hospital, triggering heavy exchanges of fire.
According to Israeli media, the force was traveling in a van and on motorcycles when it encountered an ambush while attempting to enter a café complex near United Nations staff housing. The account said intensive air support accompanied the ensuing exchange of fire.

Palestinian reports said the Israeli intervention was intended to support armed factions aligned with Israel during an assault by Hamas. Israel’s public broadcaster said the military declined to clarify whether the threat it later cited concerned its own forces or members of militias working on its behalf in Gaza, leaving the intended target of the operation unclear.
Al Jazeera correspondent Shadi Shamiyya reported that Israeli drones carried out an intensive attack on the Al-Katiba and Ansar areas, killing three Palestinians and wounding dozens, including women and children, some critically.
A source at Al-Shifa Hospital, cited by Al Jazeera, identified those killed as three children and a woman and reported that eight people were wounded in Al-Katiba. Shamiyya reported at least ten explosions, and local residents and activists reported more than twelve Israeli airstrikes within minutes.
The bombardment targeted tents and shelters in the western coastal area, which is designated as a humanitarian zone and houses tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians.
Ramy Abdu, chairman of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, identified Abdullah Ahmed Hamouda, 13, as one of the three children killed in the Al-Katiba attack.
Abdu said Israeli warplanes killed Abdullah and wounded dozens of civilians. He described the strikes as air cover for a failed assassination attempt that Palestinian groups confronted.
Shamiyya reported that low-flying Israeli drones dropped heavy munitions and fired directly around the American field hospital, trapping medical staff and patients inside.
Ambulance crews faced severe danger reaching the area and cautiously transferred wounded Palestinians to the Shifa Medical Complex, which declared a state of maximum emergency. The Palestinian Civil Defense said Israeli forces also targeted two vehicles near the Napolitana restaurant.
Off the coast of Gaza City, Israeli naval vessels fired at Palestinian fishing boats, while a drone dropped an explosive device that wounded five fishermen, one critically.
Rhe Gaza Fishermen’s Committees said Israeli naval forces abducted ten Palestinian fishermen working off Al-Zawayda in central Gaza and Sheikh Ejleen southwest of Gaza City.
They were identified as Mohammad Nafeth Salah, Zuhdi Nafeth Salah, Arafat Yasser Salah, Awad Sultan Al-Minawi, Mohammad Ahmad Abdullah, Mohannad Hassan Murad, Baraa Adel Abu Riyala, Mohammed Atef Abu Riyala, Mohammad Yasser Al-Aqra, and Marwan Hatem Al-Aqra.

Israeli armored vehicles advanced near the Wadi Gaza Bridge along Salahuddin Street in central Gaza, while Israeli forces opened heavy fire east of Deir al-Balah.
Arab48 reported that the child Israa al-Hissy was killed by Israeli gunfire east of Deir al-Balah, citing Palestinian sources. Al-Aqsa Hospital reported that two other Palestinians were wounded in the same attack.
Additional Israeli attacks were reported east of the Al-Bureij and Al-Maghazi refugee camps in central Gaza.

In southern Gaza, Israeli tanks fired heavy machine guns toward areas east of Khan Younis, wounding at least one Palestinian. Israeli artillery and explosives dropped by drones also struck eastern Khan Younis and Rafah.
In northern Gaza, Israeli forces shelled areas east of Jabalia. No casualties were immediately reported.
Separately, the Israeli military said in a statement that its attacks across the Gaza Strip were intended to “eliminate threats to its forces,” according to Al Jazeera.

In a separate humanitarian development, 110 Palestinians left Gaza through the Rafah crossing on Tuesday for medical treatment abroad, including 53 patients and 57 companions, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society. The evacuation was coordinated with the World Health Organization amid Gaza’s continuing health crisis and the need to transfer patients whose treatment is unavailable inside the Strip.
On Monday, five Palestinians were killed in two Israeli drone strikes in Gaza City. In the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood, a drone fired two missiles at a civilian vehicle, killing Baraa Ayman ar-Roubi, 35, Mo’men al-Hawari, 34, and Talal Mustafa Badawi, 38.
Earlier that day, an Israeli drone targeted civilians south of the Gaza Municipality Park, killing Assem Khaled Tawfiq Abu Abdu and Omar Mohammad al-Siraj.

In its September 1 report, the ministry said Israeli attacks since the “ceasefire” began on October 11, 2025, had killed 1,326 Palestinians and wounded 4,398, while 815 bodies had been recovered. It put the cumulative toll since October 7, 2023, at 73,462 Palestinians killed and 174,509 wounded.
The ministry separately recorded one death caused by a building collapse, raising to 34 the number of Palestinians killed in building collapses during the reporting period.
Ala’ Al-Skafi, director of the Ad-Dameer Association for Human Rights in the Gaza Strip, said: “Around 9,500 people have been reported missing or remain unaccounted for since October 7, 2023, according to data compiled by Ad-Dameer.
