Israeli attacks killed and injured Palestinians, including children, across the Gaza Strip on Wednesday. Israeli strikes and gunfire targeted homes and civilians, while a drone struck a motorcycle in Gaza City.
A number of casualties, mostly children, arrived at Al-Awda Hospital after an Israeli airstrike targeted a residential block in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.
In Khan Younis, in southern Gaza, an Israeli strike on a home belonging to the Abu Hatab family injured a young man and an elderly man.
A medical source at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis said an Israeli quadcopter opened fire at homes in the Al-Mahatta neighborhood, northeast of the city, in southern Gaza, critically wounding a child in the neck.
The source added that Israeli aircraft bombed a home near the Jordanian Field Hospital, west of the city, injuring an unspecified number of Palestinians.
In northern Gaza, Israeli helicopters opened fire east of the Jabalia refugee camp, while artillery shells struck areas east of the camp. Israeli soldiers also shot and injured a woman in the Halawa camp.
In Gaza City, an Israeli strike on a multistory residential building in the Shati refugee camp injured a girl. In a separate attack, an Israeli drone struck a motorcycle on Al-Rashid Street in the Sheikh Ejleen area, south of the city, critically wounding two Palestinians, one of whom later died from his wounds.
Medical sources identified the Palestinian who died from wounds sustained in the motorcycle attack as Farah Ahmad Hamed, a former Palestinian political prisoner from Silwad, northeast of Ramallah. The Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office said Israel deported him to Gaza following his release in the 2011 prisoner exchange deal.
Before the attack that killed him, Hamed had faced years of imprisonment and repeated Israeli targeting. Israeli forces abducted him in December 2003 after a prolonged pursuit.
He spent about eight years in Israeli prisons, endured sixty days of harsh interrogation at the Al-Maskobiya Israeli detention and interrogation facility in occupied Jerusalem, and was sentenced to seven life terms before his release in 2011.
Israeli forces partially demolished his father’s home in Silwad in 2004 and later demolished Hamed’s own home. Following his deportation to Gaza, Israel bombed his apartment during the 2014 offensive, and he survived an assassination attempt during the 2021 offensive. Israeli authorities also barred him from leaving Gaza and prevented his mother and siblings from visiting him.
After his release, Hamed held several positions in Hamas and became director of the Ahrar Center for Historical Documentation in 2017.
In other attacks reported in Gaza City, an Israeli drone strike on civilians near the Abu ‘Elba roundabout, north of the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, critically injured two Palestinians. Israeli soldiers also shot and moderately wounded a woman in the Zarqa area, east of the city.
Separately, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem denied a report by Israel’s Channel 14 alleging that the movement planned to abduct Israeli soldiers in Gaza. Qassem called the allegation fabricated incitement and said it was intended to justify further Israeli crimes and violations against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Qassem said Hamas remained committed to the ceasefire agreement and called on mediators and the Peace Council to act against continuing Israeli violations, which he said threatened the agreement and risked renewed escalation.
In a broader casualty update, Gaza’s Health Ministry said seven bodies arrived at hospitals in the Gaza Strip over the previous twenty-four hours. The total comprised two Palestinians killed in new attacks, one who died from earlier wounds, and four whose bodies were recovered. Hospitals also treated twenty-five wounded people during the same period.
According to the Ministry, Israeli attacks have killed 1,358 Palestinians and injured 4,541 since October 11, 2025, while rescue crews have recovered 831 bodies.
The Ministry said that, since October 7, 2023, Israel has killed at least 73,669 Palestinians and injured 174,652.
The Ministry added that the reported casualty figures remained incomplete because some victims were still beneath the rubble and on roads, beyond the reach of ambulance and civil defense crews.
