PNN has reported Israeli sources as announcing that a resident of the Palestinian village of Urif near Nablus had been seriously wounded during a confrontation with Israeli settlers. The Israeli radio station, Reshet Bet, clarified that a settler from the Itamar settlement shot Najeh As’ad al-Safadi, 22 years old, during a clash between the settlers and the residents of Urif village. The incident seemed to start when the settlers deliberately set fire to a Palestinian field.
The radio station claimed that Israeli troops tried to get involved and break up the confrontation but the situation escalated when a resident of the village attempted to attack a settler with a knife.
