Israel medical sources reported Wednesday that four foreign workers were injured, two seriously, by Palestinian shells fired from Gaza into Eshkol. One Israeli woman was injured by shells targeting the Asqalan (Ashkelon) coast.Israeli sources reported that a shell hit a home in Eshkol area, wounding four foreign workers, two seriously. Medics transferred the wounded to the Soroka Hospital in Beer Sheba (Be’er As-Sabe’).
The Eshkol Regional Council informed school students to remain home, while the army asked residents in Israel’s border areas to remain in shelters until further notice. Shear Hanegev Regional Council also closed all schools.
The sources added that an Israeli woman was mildly injured by Palestinian shells targeting Asqalan coast, and that the woman was moved to the Barzilai Medical Center.
Israel said that at least 50 shells were fired, Wednesday, into Israeli towns close to the border with the Gaza Strip. The army also said that seven shells were fired towards Asqalan and Ashdod.
A total of six Palestinians have been killed by Israeli shells since Monday, including 4 civilians, and twelve Palestinians were injured, some seriously.
