Thursday June 6 2013; the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) has reported that Palestinian detainee Abdullah Barghouthi, was moved from the Ramla prison clinic to the Al-Affoula Israeli hospital, due to a sharp deteriorating in his health condition.The detainee, Abdullah Barghouthi, leader of the Al-Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas, is holding hunger strike in solidarity with Jordanian detainees in Israeli prisons.

Barghouthi, serving 37 life terms, started his strike 35 days ago, after joining Jordanian detainees, Mohammad Reemawi, Hamza Othman, Mot’eb Mer’ey, and ‘Alaa’ Hammad, held in Ramla Prison.

Lawyer of the Prisoners Support and Human Rights Association (Ad-Dameer) has reported that its lawyer, Fares Zayyad, visited Jordanian detainees at the Ramon Israeli prison, the Negev Detention Camp, and Gilboa’ Prison, who told him they are determined to continue their hunger strike.

The Jordanian detainees are demanding to be released, and to be sent back to Jordan to serve their terms in Jordanian prisons as part of the Wadi Araba Agreement signed between Jordan and Israel in 1994.

They are also demanding Israel to reveal the fate and location of twenty missing Jordanians, and to transfer the remains of slain Jordanian, buried in the Numbers Graveyard, back to Jordan.

The Ad-Dameer Foundation stated that all detainees must be treated with dignity as stated by the Third and Fourth Geneva Conventions, and the International Human Rights Law.
