Israeli police abducted three Palestinian women on Thursday morning, as they were leaving occupied East Jerusalem’s Al Aqsa Mosque, while 11 settlers stormed its courtyards amid tight security measures.Jerusalem sources have reported, according to Al Ray Palestinian Media Agency, that Israeli police arrested the three worshipers women after they attended religious lectures, noting that they were then transferred to Qishleh integration center.
At the same time, 11 Israeli settlers broke into the courtyards of al-Aqsa from the Mughrabi Gate, under the protection of Israeli police. They toured in the courtyards, while the worshipers responded with Takbeer (chanting ‘Allahu Akhbar/God is Greatest’).
Media Coordinator in the Islamic Waqf authority, Firas al-Debs, said that clashes erupted between the settlers and Al Aqsa guards, after they performed Talmudic rituals and provoked Palestinian worshipers.
Extremist Israeli settlers and politicians have been consistently violating the sanctity of Al Aqsa Mosque on an almost daily basis and always under the protection of armed occupation forces, who often attack Palestinian worshipers that try to protect the holy site from further violation.
