The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestinian (PFLP), and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestinian (DFLP), criticized the approval of the Palestinian elections law, which ‘disregarded the understandings reached in the Cairo talksâ€Â.

Also, the PFLP accused law makers who voted in favor of the bill to be motivated by private and factional interests.
“They acted for very long in accordance to their interests, and in order to transform the legislative council into a private property, such a council cannot be authorized to make decisions which determine the future of the Palestinian political systemâ€Â, the PFLP stated.
The PFLP called on the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas- Abu Mazin, to implement the national agreements which serve the interests of the Palestinian people and political factions in order to achieve unity “in the continuous struggle for independence and liberationâ€Â.
Meanwhile, a prominent source at the DFLP said that the legislative council conducted a small modification to the old law of the legislative elections, while the parties agreed to override this law and implement a new one.
“The Cairo understandings arrived to a decision to consider a new legislative law which depends on equally by equally dividing the proportional representation and the election departments, this agreement were arrived with the presence of Abu Mazinâ€Â, the DFLP source reported.
The source demanded Abu Mazin to implement the Cairo understandings which calls for a new elections law for the legislative council.
Also, the source called upon the civil society institutions, popular committees and political factions to pressure the legislative council and ministers to issue a new law which depends on the interests and the will of the Palestinian society and its legitimate demands.
