Tulkarem resident, Zaher Issa Al-Ashqar, aged 27 from Seida village near Jenin was killed in an exchange of fire during an incursion by Israeli army into Tulkarem in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The Islamic Jihad movement announced the death of Al-Ashqar when they received his body from the army three hours after he was killed.
The army raided several houses in the area looking for Palestinians wanted by Israeli security.
The source told IMEMC that the army started a house-to-house search in the village.
Al-Ashqar was killed as troops attacked a house he was in, which was under construction.
Reports from the village confirmed that the army’s incursion was backed up with armored vehicles and Apaches.
