The Palestinian Authority set up a security planning team on Saturday to prepare for Israel’s withdrawal from the Gaza Strip starting in August.
‘The security planning team will set the transitional plans to deal with the Israeli pullout,’ the Palestinian interior ministry said in a statement, without elaborating.
The team of security and governmental officials was set up following talks between Palestinian Interior Minister Nasser Yousef and Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz in which both sides agreed to coordinate parts of the pullout.
