The Israeli Online daily Jerusalem Post reported that the senior Palestinian official is suspected of embezzling millions of Dollars from the P.A Budget.ÂÂ
The Jerusalem Post said that a P.A official said that the official, who served as a close aide to the late Palestinian president Yasser Arafat, for more than twenty years is wanted by the P.A for embezzlement of public finds; the official moved recently to Jordan.
Also, the Jerusalem Post reported that the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has instructed the Palestinian prosecutor-general to probe this issue, and that the P.A did not rule out asking Jordan transfer the official to the P.A in later stages.
Abbas also orders a probe against four top officials suspected of corruption and embezzlement.
