Settlers protesting the construction of a fence that separates between settlers and Palestinians in the old city of Hebron clashed on Wednesday morning with Israeli security forces.
A police officer broke his arm during the clashes, and was moved to  a Jerusalem hospital for treatment.
Security officials approved the construction of the fence in the Avraham Avinu neighborhood in an effort to protect Palestinians from settler attacks.
Two young female settlers were detained after throwing eggs at army officers.
Army has declared the area a closed military zone to prevent settlers from disrupting the work. A kindergarten in the neighborhood was closed over worries that children might impede the construction of the barrier.
The Israeli High Court of Justice had ordered the army to protect the Palestinian family after repeated attack by Jewish settlers in the city.
