The Israeli Minister of Defense Shaul Mofaz told
senior security officers that he wants the settlers’ houses that will
be evacuated in Gush Qatif settlements after the intended Israeli
pullout form the Gaza Strip to remain intact.

Mofaz said, that he has changed his original stance which was
supportive of demolishing the settlers’ houses and that he will
recommend that to the government this month.

Mofaz’s comments came in his meeting with different Israeli security devices on Thursday.

He will recommend that some structures like Synagogues and cemeteries to be moved into Israel.

The United States Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice has expressed
Washington’s opposition to the demolishing of these houses.
