An Israeli military source reported on Saturday that the army and Israeli police started, over the last few weeks, training special army units to be deployed near settlements slated for evacuation.
The army said that these special trained units will be present in order to deal with any possible violence by settlers apposing the evacuation.
The military units will be composed of Special Forces, Counter Terrorist Division which belongs to the Israeli Police and units which belongs to the Prison Authorities.
The units will not enter the settlements during evacuation unless needed, soldiers and police will not carry arms during evacuation; only the special units will be bearing arms.
“The units will start training soon, these units will try to use minimum force unless real dangers are threatening their livesâ€Â, the military source said.
Recently, the Israeli police conducted talks with settlers’ leaders in order to agree on terms of reducing violence and to make the settlers hand their weapons to the authorities prior to the evacuation process.
