Israeli Foreign Minister, Silvan Shalom said Wednesday that the expulsion of the Palestinian President Yasser Arafat is very near and he will stay in confinement until then.
Shalom’s remarks that were made in a Likud gathering ahead of the New Hebrew year holiday are the second in a week made by Israeli officials.
On Monday, the Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz made similar remarks regarding the expulsion of Arafat.
‘Israel will find the time and method to expel Arafat.’ Said Mofaz, who noted that the cabinet decision to exile Arafat is still valid.
Shalom also criticized Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia, who said Tuesday ‘no crime passes without punishment’ and said that Hamas’s retaliation to the killing of the 14 of tis activsts would be justiefied.
Shalom held Qurei personnelly responsible for any retaliation attack to be carried out by Hamas.
