Israeli TV, channel 10 reported on Monday night, that Israeli soldiers used a Palestinian child as a human shield in the village of Doura, near the West Bank city of Hebron.
Channel 10 showed a video footage showing the 17-year-old child, who was identified as Fadi, being led to a building in the village, where soldiers were hiding .
Fadi was blindfolded and led by the soldiers to the second floor of the building, then to its balcony as one of the soldiers was hiding behind the child and aimed his rifle at a group of youth throwing stones at the soldiers.
Army denied the report, which was captured on film and claimed that the child was throwing stones at them, and that soldiers did not use him as a human shield “but kept him under guard”, until he was transferred to police custody.
The footage shown on the Israeli TV clearly showed the child handcuffed, blindfolded and being led by soldiers to every location they moved to, while one of them was hiding behind him.
Member of Knesset, Yossi Sarid, from the Yahad party, described the event as a “war crime” and demanded prosecuting the soldiers involved in this incident.
Also, Sarid added that the moralities of the Israeli army had critically deteriorated "to an unprecedented level".
