Israeli soldiers opened fire and killed Sunday a Palestinian in the West Bank city of Hebron, saying he was holding a knife and running from a distance towards soldiers in what appeared to be a stabbing attempt.
According to an army source, the Palestinian drew out a knife as he was running toward the soldiers who were standing in a central junction in the town. The soldiers noticed him and fired warning shots before killing him on the spot.
"The (military) force called for him to stop several times and fired warning shots in the air. He continued moving towards the force." The source said.
No information on the incident was yet available from the Palestinian side.
