Friday evening, four Israeli soldiers were injured after an explosive charge detonated near the jeep in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

The shells exploded as a military patrol was driving near the Sofa Crossing in the southern Gaza Strip; four soldiers were mildly injured, an Israeli military source reported.

“The explosives were placed near the security fence, and were remotely detonated as the army vehicle approached the area”, army source reported.

Meanwhile, a Palestinian source reported that the soldiers were injured after a resistance group filed an RPG shell at their jeep directly hitting it.

Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of Fatah, claimed responsibility for the attack.

According to the army, four similar bombs, weighing 20-40kgm, were uncovered and safely detonated during the past week.
