The Chief Rabbi of the Israeli Army was met by angry settlers as he visited the Neve Dekalim settlement in Gaza, writes The Jerusalem Post. He went there to discuss Israel’s decision to remove the 48 graves at its cemetary to Nitzan in September, which has aroused strong feelings among some of the Gaza settlers.
Brigade General Yisrael Weiss, who is the Chief Rabbi of the Israeli Army, experienced settlers throwing empty garbage bags at him, and the car he travelled with got garbage bins emptied over it. ‘Jews don’t evacuate Jewish graves,’ the settlers yelled at the Chief Rabbi.
