An explosive charge detonated in front of the home of Palestinian Authority Chief Justice Zuhair al-Surani on Wednesday, according to a Palestinian security source in Gaza.

The home is located in al-Sabra neighborhood in Gaza city.

The explosion, which was described as ‘huge,’ caused damage to the building. No injuries were reported.

P.A security and police rushed to the scene and initiated a probe in the event.

The explosion was the second in the last 24 hours that targeted senior Palestinian officials in Gaza.

A large explosion ripped through the home of the Palestinian Attorney General, Hussein Abu Assi, in Gaza City on Monday night. It caused serious damage, but no injuries were reportd.

The explosion ripped through the front of Abu Assi’s house, collapsing the front wall outside the house and destroying the main gate.

It is still unclear if Abu Assi was at home at the time of the blast. The Palestinian police did not comment on the explosion. There was no claim of responsibility for the blast.

Abu Assi is the head of the Palestinian legal system in Gaza and the West Bank.

A source at the Palestinian Authority said that the explosion is linked to death sentences approved by Assi.
