Palestinian Minister of Civil Affairs Mahmoud Dahlan said on Wednesday that the homemade shells fired by the resistance against Israeli settlements and military camps are hurting innocent Palestinians.

“Those who are firing the shells are taking the army’s place and harming innocent civilians and properties more than the Israeli army,” he said.

Palestinian ministers met on Wednesday morning to discuss the case of a six-year-old child who was killed,  and eight children who were injured late Tuesday after a shell missed its target and hit homes in Beit Hanoun, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

One of the injured children is in a critical condition.

The Israeli online daily Haaretz reported that four of the injured children are the sons of Hisham abdul-Raziq, former Palestinian Authority Minister of Prisoners’ Affairs, . The children sustained light-to-moderate wounds.

Dahlan also said that the shells are endangering the daily lives of Palestinian residents and their children, in addition to causing more property damage in Palestinian areas.
