Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz signed orders placing three extremist settlers who are members of the outlawed Kach movement in administrative detention.

The three extremists were charged with attacking Palestinian residents.

An Israeli source reported that the three settlers were arrested while chanting incitement slogans against the Arab residents of Israel and the Palestinians during the funeral of Eden Natan Zada, 19, who carried out the Shfa-Amr massacre on Thursday evening.

Zada was buried in a civilian cemetery in Rishon Lezion after its mayor reversed himself and authorized the burial there. The mayor had initially refused to have Zada buried in the city since he had changed his address to Tapuah settlement in the West Bank.

Four Arab residents of Israel, including two sisters aged 23 and 21, were killed when the settler-soldier opened fire at the passengers on a bus heading to Shfa-Amr, a town in northern Israel. Twelve residents were injured.
