Palestinian Labor Minister, Hasan Abu Libdeh, said on Monday that his ministry is planning a huge employment project which will provide 10.000 residents with job opportunities.

“The Labor Ministry is implementing plans to counter unemployment”, Abu Libdeh said, “We are planning for a project which will provide 10.000 residents with job opportunities”.

The project which the ministry intends of implement is conducted with joint cooperation between the private and governmental sectors.

“We prepared the needed resources to finance the project”, Abu Libdeh said, “these resources will be used for financing projects and employing workers, now we only need to know how many residents the private sector can employ”.

Abu Libdeh also said that the ministry intends of increase the number of residents who receive support from the Ministry of Social Affairs to 400.000, since it currently provides these services to 200.000 residents.

This project will be financed by several international parties, and limited participation of the World Bank which promised to provide the P.A with USD 9M Dollars. 

 

The European Union promised to provide the P.A with USD 7.5M, to finance these programs in the coming period, the P.A will cover the rest of the financial expenses.
