The Israeli Security Services, Shabak, arrested on Thursday at night two Jewish extremists suspecting of throwing a pig’s head at Hassan Bek mosque in Jaffa near Tel Aviv in Israel, on Friday night.

Israeli Army Radio reported that the Israeli security arrested a Shimon Bin Hayim, 33, and a Victoria Steinman, 31, who admitted of throwing the pig’s head at the mosque, after writing the name of Prophet Mohammad on the pig’s head.

Also, the police found a pig’s head in the fridge of Bin Hayim while searching his home on Thursday.

The two arrestees work in prostitution, and have criminal records, an Israeli source reported.

Bin Hayim told the interrogators that he did so because he hates the Arabs.

“I wanted to stop the disengagement”, Bin Hayim said, “I wanted to cause violence between the Arabs and the Jews in Israel”.

Bin Hayim said that he does not belong to any Jewish organization, and that he conducted his acts because he hates the Arabs.

The two suspects were brought in front of the Tel Aviv Magistrate Court to remand their detention period.

The Islamic Movement in Israel condemned the attack against the mosque and Muslim holy sites and called on the residents to conduct the Friday prayers there.

Pig’s head in a Jaffa Mosque Yard

Muslim worshippers were shocked to find a pigs head in the yard of the Hassan Bek mosque in Jaffa near Tel Aviv in Israel, on Friday night.

As worshippers were going to the evening prayer, they found a bag in the yard.  Opening it, they found a pig’s head, wrapped with a Palestinian head cover, (Kufiya) with the name of the Muslim Prophet Mohammad written on it.

The Mosque staff alerted the police about the incident, and officers launched an investigation.

For Muslims, the pig is a disgraced animal and they do not eat its meat at all.

Israeli sources said, the mosque was stoned recently and several windows were broken.

The source said, investigators will check whether the incident is linked to other attempts to sabotage the mosque.

Investigators will also check the possibility that right-wing activists are behind the incident.

The same Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in Jaffa, was attacked by some Jewish extremists in 2001 after a Palestinian blew himself up in an Israeli night club.

Two months ago, Jewish settlers from Kiryat Arba’ in Hebron wrote bad graffiti about Mohammad in the old city on the houses close to the settlement.
