Two Palestinians were killed on Monday morning, in a blast which took place in Askar refugee camp, in the West Bank city of Nablus.

Officials are trying to determine the cause of the blast; Palestinian police said that the explosion appears to have been accidental.

A Palestinian police source reported that three people were searching scrap metal left by the army when, apparently, they picked up something that exploded.

A medical source at Rafidia hospital in Nablus reported that the two residents are a father and his son, identified as Imad Nassouh Abu Al Hoda, and his son Moheeb.

The bodies of the two residents were severely mutilated as a result of the blast.
