The Israeli Radio reported on Monday that senior Palestinian and Israeli security officers met on Sunday evening at the Eretz (Beit Hanoun) Crossing, in the northern part of the Gaza strip.
An Israeli military source said that General Suleiman Hallas headed the Palestinian delegates, while General Aviv Kochavi, previous leader of the Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip, headed the Israeli team.
This is considered the first meeting which occurs after the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.
The two sides discussed issues regarding security and military cooperation between the P.A and Israel in order to resolve issues concerning security and border control between the P.A and Israel.
Kochavi handed the Palestinians maps for the infrastructure of the evacuated settlements in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli radio reported.
