Fighters of Al Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad, shot and killed one of their members in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, due to internal conflicts, a Palestinian source reported.
Ismail Al Arja, 35, was shot after the brigades marched and showed a clip documenting the life Mohammad Al Sheikh Khalil, leader of the brigades in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, who was assassinated by the Israeli army last month.
A medical source at the European Hospital in Khan Younis reported that Arja died of a gunshot injury to his head.
Al Arja was apparently shot and killed due to internal conflicts with members and leaders of the brigades, the Maan News Agency reported.
After Al Arja was killed dozens of his relatives burnt homes and stores which belong to families of brigades members suspected of involvement in his assassination.
P.A police and security men, heavily deployed in the area in an attempt to control the situation and avoid any escalation.
Political factions held an emergency meeting in an attempt to uncover the motivations behind the assassination of the fighter and to control the situation before it develops into a wider conflict.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Ministry of Interior said that Palestinian policemen arrested four persons who are believed to be involved in the killing of Al Arja.
