Israeli army shelled with heavy artillery several areas in Gaza, while military helicopters also fired several missiles, Israeli TV channel 2 reported.
The Palestinian News Agency, WAFA, reported that soldiers fired heavy artillery at dozens of homers in Khazza’a village, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, damage was reported, no injuries.
Also, soldiers fired at least four tank shells at Palestinian areas in the eastern part of the Gaza strip; several homes were damage, no injuries were reported.
An Israeli source reported on Wednesday evening that one Israeli was injured after a Palestinian resistance group fired two homemade shells at of Netiv Ha’asarah, on the northern borders of the Gaza Strip.
One shells hit a vehicle, while other two shells hit a house and high-tension electrical line, the source said.
Israeli Foreign Minister Sylvan Shalom said that Israel will not stop its raids and shelling of the Palestinian areas as long as the Palestinian Authority “does not act against the resistance factions”.
Shalom charged that the Palestinian President is not willing to act against the armed groups.
Also, Palestinian cabinet minister, and chief negotiator Dr. Sa’eb Erekat said that Israel is waging its attacks and military procedures in order to continue conducting unilateral moves and “to dictate its moves and create new realities”.
On Wednesday evening, Israeli soldiers shot and killed one resistance fighter in Qabatia town, near Jenin. Two residents where injured by military fire, after soldiers and fighters engaged in a gun battle which erupted after invading the town.
One Israeli soldier was killed in a separate incident while soldiers were operating in Jenin earlier on Wednesday.
