Israeli soldiers based at Al Tuffah checkpoint, south of Tulkarem, shot and injured a mentally disabled resident on Tuesday morning, local sources reported.
Hassan Daoud Bdeir, 26, from Qalqilia was injured in his left leg when he was at the checkpoint. He was transferred to Rafidia hospital in the West Bank city of Nablus for treatment; his injury was described as moderate, local sources added.
The family Bdeir said that there son suffers a mental disability.
