A Palestinian medical source in the West Bank city of Jenin reported, on Sunday morning, that Israeli soldiers assassinated overnight one of the Al Aqsa brigades’ leaders, the military wing of Fateh.
The Palestinian News Agency, WAFA, reported that Shuja’ Bal’awy, 26, was shot by an Undercover military unit from the Israeli army, and injured in his leg, near the southern entrance of Jenin.
Bal’awy managed to escape and hide in a neighboring home, but the Special Forces broke into the home and shot him dead.
Bal’awy was wanted to the Israeli security since two years for his activities at the Al Aqsa Brigades, the military wing of Fateh movement, and escaped several assassination attempts carried out by Israeli soldiers.
An Israeli military source reported that soldiers noticed three fighters in Jenin overnight, and fired at them.
The source claimed that soldiers found Bal’awy dead in one of the homes on Sunday morning.
