Israeli soldiers arrested, on Sunday afternoon, Sheikh Abdul-Basit Al Haj, Hamas media spokesperson in Jenin, and another resident who was with him, and took them to an unknown destination.
The Palestinian News Agency, WAFA, reported that under-cover military units of the Israeli army broke into an office of Hamas, and arrested Abdul-Basit and the other resident.
Soldiers fired rounds of live ammunition and gas bombs before breaking into the building; military helicopters were also seen flying over the area.
