Israeli soldiers closed, on Friday morning, the Erez crossing, north of the Gaza Strip, until further notice.

A source at the Palestinian Ministry of Interior and National Security reported that soldiers closed the crossing without providing the Palestinian side with any further information.

The Erez crossing is the only link which allows passage of residents and goods from the Gaza Strip to Israel or the West Bank.

The closure comes as Israel declared what Israeli officials described as procedures to facilitate the movements of the Palestinian residents, especially sick residents who require treatment in Israel, and workers.
