The Maan News Agency reported that Israeli soldiers closed the Ibrihimi Mosque in Hebron on Friday, citing upcoming Jewish feasts, for two days.

Military representatives informed local officials in Hebron that the mosque, located in the heart of the Old City, will remain closed until Saturday evening.

Taiseer Abu Snaina, Director of Hebron’s Islamic Endowments, issued a subsequent call for Palestinians to attempt to reach the mosque despite the closure.

Soldiers in Hebron often impose movement restrictions on Palestinian residents in a bid to limit their interaction with 500 Israeli settlers living in the Old City.
