The Al Quds brigades’, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, claimed responsibility for firing 14 homemade shells at Israeli settlements around the Gaza strip, on Tuesday at dawn.

The Brigades issued a press released after firing the shells and said that the attack comes in retaliation to the assassination of top leaders in the movement, Akram Qudas and Sa’id Abu AL Jedan; both were assassinated in an air strike in Jabalia city in the Gaza strip late on Monday at night.

According to the press release 12 shells landed in the Israeli Negev town of Sedrot, while two shells landed in kibbutz Sad near the Gaza strip.

The brigades also stated that this attack is one of many other upcoming attacks, and called on its members to take high security measures and remain cautious of any possible assassinations which might be carried against them by the army.
