Ayman Joudah armed group, one of the military wings of the Al Aqsa Brigades, declared that its fighters shot and killed, on Saturday morning, an Israeli soldier in Beit Hanoun, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinenet news website reported that the shooting was captured on film, adding that one of the fighters shot the soldier using a sniper-rifle while troops were leaving a military camp on foot.

According to the statement of the brigades, several other soldiers were injured after the resistance group opened fire at them.
 
Military ambulances were scene evacuating the soldiers, the statement adds.
 
The brigades said that this operation comes in retaliation to "the continuous military crimes carried by the army", and the assassination of one of the leaders of the Al Quds Brigades, in Jenin.
 
On Friday at night, Israeli artillery fired several shells at areas in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, no injuries were reported.
 
No comment on the incident was made by the army.
