In a press release, the Al Naser Salah Ed Deen brigades, the military wing of the Popular Resistance Committees, claimed responsibility for firing two homemade shells at the Sofa Crossing, east of Rafah city, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

The brigades stated in their press released that the firing of the shells comes in retaliation to the assignation of a Hamas leader in the West Bank city of Tulkarem on Tuesday morning, and the continuous attacks the Israeli army is conducting against the Palestinians.
