Mahmoud Al Zahhar one of Hamas’ prominent political leaders, said on Saturday, that a meeting will be held later this night with the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas.The movement also dispatched another Hamas delegation to hold separate meetings with Hamas leadership in exile.
Al Zahhar stated that the meeting with President Abbas will not tackle forming of a new Palestinian government, but will most likely focus on preparations to hold the first Parliamentary session, and the efforts to name the head of the Palestinian Legislative Council, and its secretary.
Al Zahhar told the Palestinenet News Agency that he and Ismail Haniyya will be heading to Cairo on Sunday Cairo to hold consultations with the political bureau of Hamas, and to explain the movement’s position to the Arab and Islamic countries.
