Sheikh Tayseer Tamimi head of the higher judicial council in Palestine condemned the Israeli army decision to prevent the call for prayer in the Ibrahimi Mosque in the West Bank city of Hebron on Saturday morning.
 
Sheikh Tamimi released a statement of condemnation to this decisin and accused the Israeli government of attempting to turn the mosque into a Jewish holy site only, saying that it is an illegal action and a violation of Muslim rights of worship.
 
The statement also siad that "Security will never be established in the city and the situation will not be calm unless things in the city return to normal, meaning that settlers and army leave the city and the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands ends".
