Israeli army troops invaded the village of Walaja, north-west of the West Bank city of Bethlehem, demolishing one house and damaging a second one on Wednesday morning.

In a phone call with IMEMC office, a British activist in the village reported that more than 30 soldiers, three army bulldozers and several jeeps invaded the village then closed it off.  They proceded to destroy one house then attempted a second demolition.

This village is the target of the Israeli-army-imposed home-demolishing strategy which aims to remove Walaja’s residents then annex the land to Jerusalem.
