Gaza Mayor: Work stopped in more than 30 projects because of the closure

The Mayor of Gaza, Dr. Majed Abu Ramadan said, work in more than thirty projects has stopped because of the current closure imposed on the strip by the Israeli army.

Israeli forces do not allow raw material needed for these projects to enter the strip.

A number of projects were stopped including some that are about to be completed.  Most of these projects are infrastructure projects whereas others are housing projects.

Abu Ramadan said the total amount of money involved in these projects is nearly 20 millions dollars.

He called upon the International community to intervene to prevent a humanitarian disaster and economic deterioration in the Palestinian territories because of the Israeli measures and the official boycott of the and the European Union.

He Gaza Strip is very crowded and has the highest population density on earth.
