An armed resistance leader survived an ambush in the northern West Bank Wednesday morning. Salah Souafta is the leader in Tubas City of Saraya Al Quds, the armed resistance wing of Islamic Jihad. Israeli forces ambushed him this morning in Al Zababda Village.
Local sources report that reinforced Israeli forces broke into the town and besieged the Sami Building in the northern West Bank, claiming there were “wanted” people inside. During the invasion of the building Israeli forces did not arrest anyone. Instead they attempted to ambush Souafta, but he escaped. Residents expect more of the same tonight.
In southern Jenin’s town of Kfar Ri, Israeli forces arrested two young Palestinian men at dawn this morning. Palestinian security sources said that reinforced forces broke into several houses in the town, searched and destroyed contents, and took Ayman Tareq and Salim Melhem to unknown locations.
