The Israeli army attacked a Palestinian taxi driver from Araba village near the West Bank city of Jenin Saturday at noon.

Troops stopped Fadi Al Dahdoh, who tried to pay pass the military checkpoint that soldiers had installed near the village.

Al Dahdoh was attacked by several soldiers who hit him with batons and clubs.  Al Dahdoh responded by smashing their Jeep with his car, local sources reported.

According to residents from the area, the soldiers who closed the road this morning are forcing people to stand for long hours in the extremely hot weather and are allegedly checking ID cards and searching cars.
