Some three hundred Palestinian residents are currently stuck at the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing after Israeli closed the Palestinian side. Palestinian officials are currently holding talks with different sides in an attempt to solve the issue.
A Palestinian governmental source reported that the Palestinian government contacted the Egyptian government in an attempt to secure the entry of the residents held at the Egyptian side of the crossing.
Palestinian Minister of Health Basim Na’im said that he contacted the Arab Physicians Society in Cairo and asked them to send medicine and large quantities of food and drinks as soon as possible.
The Egyptian government promised to solve the issue with the Israeli side soon.
Na’im added that all talks with the Israeli side have not brought any positive results so far, adding that Israel rejected to give a final date for opening the terminal.
