A Palestinian civilian was killed and eight were injured in the southern Gaza city of Rafah after the Israeli air force shot a missile at a car in an apparent assassination attempt of Palestinian resistance fighters. The missile missed the fighters and hit a group of civilians instead, local medical sources reported.
Local sources reported an Israeli war jet fired one missile at a vehicle driving near Al Shouka Municipality, east of Rafah.
The vehicle carried resistance fighters who managed to escape unharmed. One civilian was killed and eight others were injured in the attack.
A medical source at Abu Yousef Al Najjar Hospital identified the deceased as Bilal Suleiman Al Rabba’, 18.
The source added that the injured residents suffered mild-to-moderate wounds.
Meanwhile, Palestinian resistance factions called on their members to remain alert as the Israeli air force remains a heavy presence in the area and might carry out further attacks and assassination attempts.
Israeli soldiers fired heavy artillery at several areas in the northern and eastern parts of the Gaza Strip, including a residential area east of Gaza City. Five residents were injured and hospitalized at Al Shifa Hospital in the city.
