In an unprecedented step, Palestinian members of the Israeli Knesset are being asked to resign collectively. Hussein Al Arvaian, President of the Regional Council of Unrecognized Villages in the Negev Desert said Monday that this move on the part of Jewish members of Israeli Parliament illustrates the “ethnic democracy” of the Israeli state.

The amount of racism inside Israeli borders is atrocious as that inside the West Bank, occupied Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, as stated by Al Arvaian.

He said, “We all know and understand the work and the great effort of the Arab members of the Israeli Knesset to resolve all outstanding issues of import for the Palestinian field, just as we are aware of the significant role of discrimination and injustice against them in the Israeli Knesset, media, and international forums.

The international community must hear and see the evidence of how racist the state of is if they cannot understand the fact by the idea of taking Palestinian land for a state for Jews. It does not respect the rights of the minority, which is now the Palestinians, and we must note that Arab members of the Israeli Knesset have tried to rectify these issues, such as that of the unrecognized villages in the Negev, but no calls were heeded. The best answer is for the international community to recognize the real face of .”

And in order to dispel any lingering notions that a democracy is at play in Israel, Al Arvaian said, “It is the duty of the members of the Knesset Jews to listen to the demands of the minority, and by doing so they demonstrate that there is a democratic state for all, note that in this State Arabs are the minority, and it is unreasonable to consider the status of its citizens equal when we are the original population, regardless that we are no longer the majority under ethnic cleansing.”

The Israeli government is demolishing Palestinian and Bedouin homes in the Negev Desert, claiming they do not have ‘permission’ to build, in addition to referring to several villages as ‘unrecognized.’
