The Israeli army held up hundreds of residents between the northern West Bank cities of Tulkarem and Nablus Tuesday.

Local sources reported that the army installed a checkpoint on the main road connecting the two areas and stopped vehicles and residents for long hours in the summer heat.

Soldiers forced residents to step out of their vehicles to check for IDs. Those under the age of 30 were the main targets, the sources added.

Israeli soldiers have been deployed in the area for the past week.
