The electronic website of the Israeli paper, Yedioth Ahronoth, reported on Saturday that the Israeli army had deployed three Patriot missile batteries in the city of Haifa in the morning. The deployment was part of preparations to counter missile attacks of Hezbollah.

The website added: "The Israeli army takes the threats by the general secretary of Hezbollah seriously, which he mentioned in his recorded speech on Friday evening when he threatened more surprises to Israel."

Those patriots were used for the first time during the US invasion of Iraq in 1991 and proved a failure in intercepting the Iraqi Scud missiles at that time.
